EDM Genre

Also known as Electro Dance Music, this type of music is created and formed by DJs who mix a range of beats and tones to create unique music. EDM is essentially any form of music that is both produced electronically with digital (computers) and analogue equipment, and is designed to be danced to. This genre contains instruments and sounds like synthesizers, drum machines, processed samples and recordings, and normally has an inherent ‘electronic nature’ to the sound of it. In the early twenties, electronic dance music was known in the form of Jamaican dub music, the electronic music of Kraftwerk, the disco music of Giorgio Moroder, the Yellow Magic Orchestra and many more. Electronic Dance Music is popular in dance clubs, especially in the form of live DJs, who will mix hundreds of different tracks in one session.  Artists such as The Chemical Brothers, Fat Boy Slim, and Underworld made dance music a chart sensation during the 1990s.
